CEREDO HISTORICAL INFORMATION             I am looking for information concerning history of a home at 265 First Street West in Ceredo. My family owns this house and I understand it was built by J. P. Waymer about 1850. I have a blurry photo from a Ceredo Crescent newspaper, but it is very poor. FARRA             In late August or early September of 1932, Charles Washington Farra was found dead on the railroad tracks in West Williamson, WV. He was my grandfather and I am looking for any additional information that can be found. Howard Osburn sent me articles from the WC News, but there are still some unanswered questions. RAMEY                 I am looking for a picture of either James Ramey or his tombstone. James was born 3/8/1862 and died 5/20/1945. He married Armilda Queen, and they had one son, James Ramey, Jr.

PERRY, CRUM             Searching for my great-great-grandmother’s parents. Polly Perry was born 3/12/1840 in Johnson Co, KY and died 3/16/1939 in Wayne County, WV. She married Jesse Crum ca 1883. He death certificate lists her parents as George Perry and Becky Venters as her parents. Does anyone know anything about this family? Also need help with the family of Frederick Crum, son of Adam. DAMRON             Researching my mother’s side of our family. Her father was Robert Damron from Pikeville, KY. His father was Ezekiel Damron, who was born in Wayne County, the son of Lazarus Damron. ADKINS, MATHIS/ MATTHEWS             My grandfather was Allie (Alley) Adkins, son of Hezekiah and Soletha Jane (Queen) Adkins. He and Bessie Mathis were my father’s parents and I do not believe they were married. My father was Homer Adkins, born in 1916. HATTON             I am descended from Samuel Hatton and understand he is buried in the Hatton Cemetery at Prichard. I have some questions: Is there a caretaker or someone responsible for records of the cemetery? Are there certified records kept at the time of his death? Where would I find them, if so? LAMBERT             Looking for information on my great-grandfather. Anthony Lambert was born in 1897-98 in Wayne County, WV. The only information I have on him was on my grandfather’s birth certificate. I have been told that he died about 4 years after my grandfather was born, ca 1920. Anything helpful appreciated. COPLEY             In the paper files we have on the Copley Tribe we find a William Henry Copley, born in 1799, son of Joshua Copley. It also indicates that he married twice. The first wife is unknown, but apparently the mother of James Dickey Copley. We saw an input to the Copley site which was from a descendent, we believe her name was Debra Copley, but cannot be sure. COPLEY                 I am looking for information on Millard Filmore Copley, born 2/26/1870 in Ohio and died 7/12/1953 in WV. His father was Nicholas Copley. I have heard that he is buried in the Harrison Jude cemetery in Wayne County, but I can find no proof of that. Any help will be appreciated.

RAKES                 I have a g.g. Uncle, James Rakes, who served in the Civil War. According to his death certificate he died 5/16/1934 and was buried in the Kennedy Cemetery. Also, my grandfather, David A. Chafins died 2/19/1888 and is supposed to be buried on Beech Fork. I can find no information on either of them and need help.     Max022543@aol.com

MOORE     I live out of state and have family buried in the Queens Ridge Cemetery. I would like to visit the graves there. Can anyone send me directions to the cemetery? ROGERS     Looking for information on infant Fred Allen Rogers, born 4/11/1936 and died 10/12/1936. The grave is probably unmarked. Information I have is that he lived in the Beech Fork area and that he was buried in a church yard in the area. STILTNER     James Harvey Stiltner, born in VA in 1822, came to Wayne County prior to 1860. He married Clarinda Watts and they had seven children, of which 5 were born in Wayne County. MARCUM, SALMONS     I am new to genealogy, and trying to locate my family. My father is William Clarence Marcum. I need information on his parents, William Clinton Marcum (1864-1945) and Molly Salmons. He was first married to Rosey Bell ??. VANHOOSE, COPLEY     I believe that Reuben Vanhoose and his wife Rebecca Jane (Copley) Vanhoose both died between 1865 and 1880 in Wayne County. PERRY, MARCUM         I am searching for my dad’s, Frank Marcum, biological father. I have been told that it was Oscar Perry, who died about 5 years ago. I would like to read his obituary. Frank’s mother was Lou Marcum, who died when he was 2 years old. Lou also had another son, Howard Spaulding. Frank was raised by Dennis and Anna Marcum. MEADE, RUNYON         My grandfather was Aaron Meade, who was from Mingo County and is buried at Burchetts Cemetery in Turkey Creek, KY. He was related to General George Meade. I understand Aaron was part Cherokee, and I am trying to find his ancestry there.
