In talking with people of this area, especially the younger people, I am amazed at how little is known about the early history of Jane Lew and the surrounding area.
With this in mind, I have made some of my Web Pages with the hope of perhaps planting a "seed".
All of the information about the Hughes’ and other families were gleaned from old books, and I can not say if it’s "right or wrong"... only that this is the way it was written.
Nothing on my pages is meant to diminish or enhance any particular individuals...only to perhaps give a little insight into Hacker's Creek and surrounding areas some 150 to 200 years ago.
My choice to do several pages on Jesse Hughes was just because it is a name I’m familiar with and I know the area of the creek (run) named after him.
I have attempted to give the proper credit where credit is due…
it is not my intention to take any credit for work that is not mine, nor to give credit to anyone else that is not deserving.If you have something that you would like to contribute and have posted on my pages, I will do what I can to add it to my site…
