HYCAT Handbook: Travel Assistance Program Requirements/"Work Program"
The HYCAT Travel Assistance Program's {TAP} "Work Program" for the 2000-2001
Fall/Winter/Summer Swimming Season is outlined below for your information. If
you have any questions regarding this handout, or procedures outlined below, please
see/contact Greg Olson!
The HYCAT TAP "Work Program" is designed to allow the HYCAT swimmers the opportunity
to "work" at various designated jobs/tasks and earn "points/credits" towards one of the
following areas:
[1] 2000-2001 HYCAT Travel Assistance Program
[2] 2001 HYCAT Fun Trip
[3] 2001 Summer UC "Learn-to-Swim" {LTS} Program.
"Points/credits" may be obtained for the following areas:
** for both HYCAT TAP AND UC LTS at the same time during the Saturday Stroke
Clinics/Camps
** for both HYCAT Fun Trip AND UC LTS at the same time during the Saturday
Stroke Clinics/Camps
** solely for UC LTS on Saturday Stroke Clinics/Camps
** solely for HYCAT TAP during any HYCAT work assignment/activity
** solely for HYCAT Fun Trip during any HYCAT work assignment/activity
[NOTE: the HYCAT TAP and HYCAT Fun Trip will be treated as separate areas and the
swimmer MAY NOT earn "points/credits" for both programs at the same time. The
swimmer MUST designate what program he/she is working for the "points/credits." If
the swimmer DOES NOT declare the program, and if the swimmer has registered for the
2000-2002 HYCAT TAP, ALL "points/credits" will be CREDITED to this program.]
The swimmers will have the opportunity to indicate their intention of working for
either [A] one (1) share [1/3] HYCAT TAP support; [B] two (2) share [2/3] HYCAT TAP support;
OR [C] three (3) share [3/3] HYCAT TAP support at the 2000-2001 TAP Meeting on
Wednesday, July 27TH or on the same form that will be posted on the door of the HYCAT
Swimming Office beginning NO LATER THAN Monday, August 7TH. By placing your
signature on the "sign-up" sheet, you, and your parents, agree to abide by ALL
of the rules; regulations and/or polices established for the 2000-2001 HYCAT Travel
Assistance Program as contained in the two (2) handouts outlining the "HYCAT TAP
Requirements/Criteria" and the "HYCAT Work Assignments."
Each HYCAT swimmer who wishes to participate AND receive either one (1) share
[1/3]; two (2) shares [2/3]; OR three (3) shares [2/3] financial assistance
from the 2000-2001 HYCAT Travel Assistance Program MUST volunteer to work two
(2) sessions at the 2000 Charleston Regatta Concession Booth/2000 HYCAT Regatta River
Swim; one (1) session each at the home HYCAT Swim Meets {Kortz Meet in late October 2000;
Capital City Classic Meet in mid-December 2000; and Odd Age Group Meet in late March
2001} AND two (2) sessions at the 2001 Annual Greater Kanawha Valley Swimming
Championships in July.
Working additional sessions at these meets will help you "fulfill" your HYCAT "Work Program"
requirements as listed below! If you fail to fulfill this obligation, you will be required
to repay the HYCAT Swimming Program any/all TAP support which you received during the 2000-
2001 Swimming Season.

approximately 3:30PM. The swimmer (or their parents ONLY) may "sign-up" to work = NO

signed-up for HYCAT TAP, and the swimmer HAS NOT indicated an area next to their name, then
the TAP area will be "circled" for them by the HYCAT Swimming Office. CHANGES MAY ONLY BE
MADE 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF YOUR WORK ASSIGNMENT!
