HYCAT Handbook: Fees

The swimmer's monthly "Swimming Fees" are due on or before the 1st of every month for
which the swimmer wishes to participate, either with swimming practices or in swim meet 
competition.  Also, there are two (2) additional fees that a swimmer MUST pay when they 
join the HYCAT Swimming Program: [A] the "USA Swimming Membership Fee" of $37.50 per
swimmer if paid prior to October 31st OR $40.50 per swimmer if paid on or after 
November 1st of each year; and [B] the "HYCAT Registration Fee" of $30.00 per swimmer.  
Within 10-14 days after payment of the "HYCAT Registration Fee," each HYCAT swimmer will 
receive an HYCAT t-shirt & swim cap.  The "USA Swimming Membership Fee" and the "HYCAT 
Registration Fee" are due at the time the child joins the HYCAT Program. 

If a swimmer joins either of the "SEASONAL PROGRAMS," the HYCAT High School Program from
late OCT to mid February or the HYCAT Summer League Program from late April to mid 
August of each year, the "USA Swimming Membership Fee" will be $22.50 per swimmer since 
these HYCAT Programs are considered "SEASONAL MEMBERSHIP" programs. 

Checks should be made payable to the "University of Charleston."  Payments may be 
deposited under the door of the HYCAT Swimming Office OR mailed to: HYCAT Swimming Office; 
2300 MacCorkle Ave, SE; Charleston, WV  25304.  The club has a "maximum" monthly swim fee
of $175.00 per family EXCLUDING the "USA Swimming Membership Fee" and the "HYCAT Regis-
tration Fee."  A HYCAT family MUST pay full monthly swim fees for their first two (2) 
children at the highest level; then a 25% discount is available for the third child at the 
next highest level; and a 50% discount is available for ALL additional children regard-
less of levels.

Monthly "Swimming Fees" for the months of September and August will be one-half 
(1/2) the regular/normal amount for members of the "Developmental/Instructional Programs" 
while the members of the "Competitive Programs" will pay FULL monthly swimming fees for 
ALL months. 

If a member of a Comp Team wishes to take a month(s) "off," the swimmer MUST still pay 
one-half (1/2) the regular monthly fees to hold their child's position on the team AND 
still fulfill their Swim Meet Competition requirements during those months.  Also, the 
parents will be required to pay the entry fees for those meets and the swimmer WILL NOT 
be eligible for HYCAT TAP support during that swimming season, including the HYCAT Fun Trip.
If a swimmer received HYCAT TAP support, or participated in the HYCAT Fun Trip, the swimmer, 
and/or their parents, MUST reimburse HYCAT for any support received.

If the monthly swimming fees ARE NOT paid by the 10th of the month, there will be a $10.00 
"late payment fee" added to the swimmer's monthly "Swimming Fees."  The HYCAT Swimming 
Office will make every effort to send a "reminder" notice home with the swimmer on or 
about the 15th of the month if the fees have not been paid.  If the "Swimming Fees" 
remain unpaid after the 20th of the month, the swimmer will receive another notice 
informing the swimmer that he/she will not be permitted to practice with their team/
program; represent HYCAT Swimming in any swim meet competition; AND will not be permitted 
to participate in any program sponsored by HYCAT Swimming until such fees have been 
PAID-IN-FULL!!!

Regarding the Summer WV State Championship Swim Meet, this meet is considered an August
Swim Meet for budgetary purposes.

The yearly swimming fees for the HYCAT Swimming Program are as follows:

      ** MASTERS PROGRAM                              $ 35.00/month

The newsletter {"SPLASH"} will serve as a notice that your monthly "Swimming
Fees" are due on or before the 1st of the month as outlined.  The newsletter will be
placed in the upper right section of the plastic file folders that are located outside
the Swimming Office according to the schedule listed below: 

      ** 1st issue Fall Season    approximately the week of Oct   2nd 
      ** 2nd issue Fall Season    approximately the week of Nov  13th 
      ** 1st issue Winter Season  approximately the week of Jan  22nd 
      ** 2nd issue Winter Season  approximately the week of Mar  19th 
      ** 1st issue Summer Season  approximately the week of May  28th
