One of the reasons we moved out to the woods was because of our feelings about the direction our country was taking. Our activism then took several forms, from participating in local marches and events to a long-running vigil each Saturday in the small town we lived in.

Our lives in the woods are not divorced from that activism, at times it seems that we have gone a different direction, at times things haven’t changed at all. We hope to use this portion of the web site for materials relating to activism and our concerns.

Right now, there are three major components to this section of the web site:

War Stories
This section is devoted to looking at narratives of war. The stories we present here are slightly skewed from those seen in movies or on TV news programs. We show stories demonstrating the plight of the conquered, the racism of war, battles where there are no victors.

No War
This section is loosely titled No War only because being antiwar encompasses so many things since war is a fundamental principle of our society. Conflict is the basis for our art and our nation’s geopolitical actions.

Palestine
This section of the web site is devoted to an examination of the Israel/Palestine conflict, principally from a human rights viewpoint.
