of war.

Foundation web site for information about humanitarian work,
problems and news updates.
The National Gulf
War Resource Center web site focuses on US veterans issues
for the last Gulf War. It is critical of many Defense Department
activities at times, at times not.
The Sunshine
Project is devoted to exposing the proliferation of biological
weapons, though they also provide information about chemical weapons,
especially non-lethal chemical weapons that the US is
developing.
Vietnam
Inc., a book of photographs and captions by Philip Griffiths
is to Georges mind one of the best books about the Vietnam
war.
The Sixties Project has Winter
Soldier testimony given in Detroit in 1971.
Terry Grosss
Fresh Air on NPR sometimes has very good interviews with people
involved with or knowledgeable about current events. This interview
with Chris
Hedges (from 18 March) is a good one (uses RealPlayer).
STAAAMP Survivors
Take Action Against Abuse by Military Personnel is a web site about
sexual and physical abuse by military personnel to their spouses,
girl friends or others they come in contact with. The rate of domestic
violence among the military is 5 times that of the civilian population.

for War and Peace Reporting is an organization based in London.
They have a portion of their web site devoted to events in Iraq.

They have material here for a person who wants to become an activist.

Against the War web site is great.
Code Pink
is a web site devoted to activism by women against the war in Iraq.
War Resistors
League has leaflets you can download from their web site. They
have been doing this for a long time and are good at it.
Not In Our
Name is an organization based on resistance to the war effort.
Human
Rights Links
Civilian
deaths in the air war in Afghanistan are largely ignored by
the news media. The author of this article examines the subject
exhaustively.
Amnesty International
is a well known human rights organization. They have devoted a portion
of their web site to the Iraq
crisis.
Human Rights Watch
is another well known human rights organization that has also devoted
a portion of their web site to Iraq.
The publications about military
campaigns in the past by allied members are good.
UN
High Commissioner of Human Rights has links to treaties and
other documents relating to human rights here.
Crimes of
War Project has a well organized web site with lots of information
about the nature of war crimes and detailed examination of specific
crimes and issues.
