Photographs of the Spill, part 2

This group of photographs, taken between 30 August and 1 September, shows some of the water contamination.

Remediation included the use of Sphag-sorb to capture oil. Floating oil soaked Sphag-sorb is being held back by the boom.

The solids from the pollution rested above the water at the time of remediation. This is an indicator that the spill occurred sometime before it was first noticed, when the creek was higher.

Patches of whitish matter floating in the creek.

Red contamination was visible on the bank above the water's edge.

The red contamination was at least a half a foot above the current water level which means the spill could have occurred weeks earlier.

Patches of contamination were visible in pools not connected any longer to the creek's flow.
