Shaping the latch grip

This drawing gives an idea of the process for flattening the cusps. We make sure that the latch doesn’t rock on its cusps, it must be dead flat on our “test” steel block. The top surface of the latch grip should also be parallel with the surface of the block — we sight check this against a line drawn on the shop wall.
